With the sun

I love my bed and I am not much of a morning person.

Sometimes I like to get up early and take photos of the sunrise.

With the sun, I feel alive.

Rangers Sunrise
Red Glow with Mt Ruapehu, Mt Ngauruhoe and Mt Tongariro in the distance
Dawn on the hills
Pouakai Rangers looking across the Ahukawakawa swamp to Mt Taranaki. This is my favourite photo!
Suns up
From the Pouakai Rangers looking across the towards the tarns
Through the trees
Tongariro, Ngauruhoe and Ruapehu from North Egmont
Skys alight
Sunrise across New Plymouth from North Egmont
Dawn at the bridge
Cold winters morning at Te Rewarewa bridge, Waiwhakahio, New Plymouth
Daybreak in Waiwhakaiho
Winter morning on the coastal wallway at Te Rewa Rewa bridge
Lake McGergor
First time staying in a campervan in the snow, and watching the sunrise in the South Island.
Above the clouds
Above the crowds, above the clouds where the sounds are original… Mt Ruahepu through a favourite natural frame

“Look, and it can’t be seen.
Listen, and it can’t be heard.
Reach, and it can’t be grasped.

Above, it isn’t bright.
Below, it isn’t dark.
Seamless, unnamable,
it returns to the realm of nothing.
Form that includes all forms,
image without an image,
subtle, beyond all conception.

Approach it and there is no beginning;
follow it and there is no end.
You can’t know it, but you can be it,
at ease in your own life.
Just realize where you come from:
this is the essence of wisdom.”
